We’re Kim Jon Designs, a husband and wife team, happy to be celebrating 30 years of wedding flowers, event florals, and custom gardens on the east end of Long Island including the Hamptons, Montauk, Shelter Island and the beautiful North Fork.
We began in 1985 when we opened the first European style flower shop in Southampton, the Fickle Pickle. In 1997 we moved to our private floral design studio at our home in Water Mill to work exclusively on wedding, celebrations and private gardens.

Happy to meet you! I’m Kim Solomito and I studied at the New York Botanical Gardens in Floral Design and received a degree in horticulture from Suffolk Community College on Long Island. I spent five years working both the international and local flower market, which gives me a great edge on knowing which products are available and fitting your tastes to your budget.
My husband Jon Malkmes was educated at Williams College and is a fourth generation florist. Jon has always pursued his talents as a master florist, gardener and carpenter. His floral design mastery is truly second to none.
Kim Jon Designs has been featured in Well Wed Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, New York Weddings, Long Island Weddings, the Wedding Channel, Wedding Bells, and The Knot Ultimate Wedding Look Book.
We are proud to support the following charitable organizations: God Loves We Deliver, American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, and Veteran’s Day Wedding Giveback at Brecknock Hall in Greenport, New York.
